Jo Drapier is the Bradford Service Area Coordinator, and also an ardent fund-raiser. Jo spent some time in Australia helping with the Wheelchair Rugby League Word Cup and saw at first hand the great help that the RFL Benevolent Fund can be for those unfortunate enough to be injured playing. With this in mind, Jo has set herself a formidable challenge.

She intends to run in three well-known long distance events, one of which she has already completed. Earlier this month Jo completed the first leg of her challenge, the Great Ireland 10k Run, in a time of 61 minutes (see picture at the gates of Pheonix Park, Dublin). The remaining two events are the Great Manchester 10k Run in May and the Great North Run, which is a half marathon. Being a natural competitor, Jo has given herself the target of completing the three events in under 4 hours, which would be quite an achievement!

Her other target is to raise at least £500 for the Benevolent Fund.

“I have raised over £200 so far, so I am well on my way to reaching my target”, said Jo. “I shall be doing the Great Manchester Run in a “whoopee cushion” outfit, so give me a cheer if you spot it”, added Jo.
